Active Parenting of Teens  (Ages 12-18)

 

Age Target: Parents of kids ages 12–18 
Duration: Six 2-hour sessions or six one-hour lunches
When: Daytime, over lunch or evening
Includes: Parent’s Guide Workbook & handouts

Description: Active Parenting of Teens Workshop is an evidence-based program thatcombines video, activities and discussion to help parents raise responsible teens who are able to resist negative peer pressure. The program demonstrates non-violent discipline techniques and effective encouragement skills.

Parents and caregivers will learn:

  • The Active Parent (Teens today)
  • Winning Cooperation
  • Responsibility & Discipline
  • Building Courage, Character & Self-Esteem
  • Drugs, Sexuality, & Violence I
  • Drugs, Sexuality, & Violence II

Guiding Good Choices (Ages 9-14)

 

Age Target: Parents of kids ages 9–14 
Duration: Five 2-hour sessions
When: Daytime or evenings
Includes: Parent’s Guide Workbook & handouts

Parents and caregivers will learn:

  • To prevent drug abuse in your family
  • Developing a Family Policy
  • How to say no (Kids attend this session with their parents)
  • Controlling and expressing anger
  • Strengthening family bonds

Active Parenting Now (Ages 5-12)

 

Age Target: Parents of kids ages 5–12
Duration: Six 2-hour sessions or six one-hour lunches
When: Daytime, over lunch or evening
Includes: Parent’s Guide Workbook & handouts

Parents and caregivers will learn:

  • Active parenting skills
  • Winning cooperation
  • Responsibility & discipline
  • Understanding & redirecting misbehavior
  • Building courage, character & self-esteem
  • Tips for being an active family now
